CyberVision64/3D

No operation

Type of Failure:

The Cybervision64/3D does not work but is displayed as working in the expansion board diagnostics.

Cause:

During the installation process the wrong monitorfile for the CyberVision64/3D has been installed. The CyberVision64/3D is capable of working with Zorro II as well as with Zorro III slots. The card reserves itself 256 MB RAM on Zorro III machines and 4MB on Zorro II. Therefore the memory adressing is different on one and the same card depending on what type of Zorro bus it is operating on. Therefore each Zorro bus has its own monitor file. But since the installer can not detect on what type of Zorro bus its operating on, the proper monitor file must be chosen during the installation process of the CyberVision64/3D.

Another source of failiures of this kind may also be a unproper selection of the "cgxsystem.library" and "cgxvideo.library" version. There are different versions of these librarys. You must chose the proper version for the type of CPU You are operating on since the librarys are optimized for the different CPU types.

Solution:

Please check if the proper the monitor file is installed to Your system. Furthermore You make sure that the proper versions of "cgxvideo.library" and "cgxsystem.library" are installed. Repeat the install procedure if necessary and select the proper monitor file and CPU type of the library's for Your system.
